Who am I ?

Siapakah Aku ?

Aku mudah diatur-kamu tinggal tegas terhadapku.

Siapakah Aku ?

So, can u guess ?

Aku adalah KEBIASAAN :)

"Taburkanlah suatu pikiran, maka kamu akan menuai perbuatan;
Taburkanlah suatu perbuatan, maka kamu akan menuai kebiasaan;
Taburkanlah suatu kebiasaan; maka kamu akan menuai karakter;
Taburkanlah suatu karakter; maka kamu akan menuai takdir." - Samuel Smiles

This Beggar is A Real-life Hero !

Got this interesting story about a real-life hero ! You really should read this ! Hope this story will open your mind and increase our concern about others. :)

In my whole life my definition of superhero was restricted to a person who can fly, fight for his protection and have some magical powers. When I was a teenage my super definition was changed and I added soldiers in that list till last year there was no further addition. I was pretty much sure that my list of super heroes is complete and do not need any amendment until I found ninety six (96) years old Dobri Dobrev.

You can find him in the cities of Sofia, Bulgaria with a begging bowl in his hands, ragged clothes grown shave and wrinkled face. Yes heroes can be like him. The real life real heroes.
Dobri Dobrev is a victim from the Second World War, which has left serious impact on him and he has lost his 70% listening/hearing cells. But even in this condition he walks 25 kilometers daily from his native village to Sofia, Bulgaria to ask people fill his bowl with coins and whatever they like to give in the name of God.
He receive 80 euro (hardly 100 dollars) on monthly basis in the name of pension and that amount is more than enough for his personal expenses. Then the question came in mind that what is the need of those 25 kilometers of walk for filling his bowl when his own 80 euros are more than his needs.
Over the years he has collected 40000 euros and the most interesting thing is he has never spent a single penny from that money. He saved it as an act that will make his god happy. This old saint challenged the people who make excuses when it comes for volunteering.
He has donated all his saving to the orphanages of his city, that are serving the community but are unable to pay high bills. We think several times before spending a single cent on someone else and he gave his many years of hard work’s reward in a minute without keep any portion for himself.
People like him are the real heroes, whose ultimate motive is to help humanity in every possible way. People like Dobri Dobrev are hard to find in this world of artificial and screen created superheroes, who forgot about their self when there comes the time to prove human beings with pure ‘’human hearts’’ still exit.
People gave Dobri Dobrev the title of Saint of Bailovo, Bailovo is his birth place. People also call him Dyado Dobrev which means Grandpa Dobrev. He is considered as symbol of selfless and true activist.
It is the time when we should start introducing our children and teenagers with real life heroes, heroes that world needs the most in current scenario. Heroes that knew that spending on others will bring more contentment then spending on one’s own self. We should start rewarding these types of people the biggest world awards other than the people who creates weapon of mass destruction.

Well ? Even a beggar could help other people. So, What are we waiting for ? Don't just sit down and do nothing. Help other people around you. You can start from a small thing and be useful for others ! ;D

By Nurlatifah

Being given a topic to be discussed, participants of Workshop of Promotion of KMUTT, either from ITS or KMUTT, found the joy of sharing stories and began to build a new friendship between each other. They were so happy at the time. And although sometimes the discussion was far away from the topic, the participants and KMUTT students still discussed about the topic generally.
On June 19th 2014 at Assembly Room of Civil Engineering ITS, there were held a workshop about Promotion of KMUTT (King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi). This workshop was one of the events held on ASEAN Student Camp 2014 and was eligible for all ITS students and staffs. All candidates of ITS IO Volunteer Session 5 were also attended this workshop as part of selection process (Outing).

This workshop (Promotion of KMUTT) was begun by the welcoming speech from a delegation of ITS IO and KMUTT itself. Then It was followed by a Saman dance and choir performance from KMUTT Students.  KMUTT Students sang “Laskar Pelangi” song from Nidji. All participants were so enthusiastic to see KMUTT student’s performance. A round of applause was following the end of the performance.

The next session of the workshop was the most favorite one. It was a discussion session. In this session the participants were divided into small groups and each group would have a discussion about a certain topic with two students from KMUTT. The topics were education, economic, and culture. All participants were so enthusiastic and enjoyed having a discussion with KMUTT students. Most of them were willing to know about the lifestyle in Thailand, the education, and the culture in Thailand. Novicha, one of the participants from chemistry department was willing to know about the culture and the lifestyle in Thailand. She was also curious about what KMUTT students think about Surabaya, especially ITS. Although they found difficulties in understanding the language and the accent in the beginning, but with a help from paper and pen, both side were finally connected and understand each other. Despite the fact that sometimes the discussion was far from the topic, the participants and KMUTT students were still discussing about the topic in general.
